A few words from Andrew Rourke, Chief Technology Officer of eCom

My journey at eCom has developed over several years, from front end design to coding, to analyst, and now to my current position as Chief Technology Officer. Along this journey, as well as having the opportunity to build my own skills and career, I have undertaken deliberate and transformational shifts in the way my team and I work in developing our products, and the services we deliver.

eCom became a Microsoft Partner in the early days and throughout our work we have ensured their latest offerings in our practices, in line with Microsoft’s delivery models. For example, moving the Azure Cloud early allowed us all to develop the skills and knowledge base to fully drive our innovations.

This change was a defining step in our journey as it unlocked significant advancements in resilience and security.

These capabilities are fundamental in supporting the demands of our current customer base. eCom’s customer base has moved over the last 10 years from majority UK based to now mostly global, with mission critical operations supported by our cloud-native architecture and the robust infrastructure Azure provides.

As part of eCom’s and my own ongoing development, we take care to ensure our thoughtful engineering and operational excellence delivers services with confidence. That confidence empowers us to fully meet today’s expectations and allows us to rapidly adapt to any future challenges.
