Spotlight on eCom’s CEO

Wendy Edie’s story and eCom’s story have grown side by side over the past 30 years.

When she joined in 2002, it was meant to be a short-term trial. Instead, it became a defining chapter of her life, one that saw her move from Marketing Manager to Director, and ultimately CEO. Along the way, she has grown with the business, shaped by its challenges, opportunities, and constant evolution.

That continuity is also what defines eCom’s work. In an industry often driven by change for change’s sake, eCom has stayed focused on building something lasting.

Our solutions are reliable, secure, and grounded in real need.

At the centre of this is eAssessment. The demand for evidence, trust, and integrity in assessment has influenced the learning experience, and the solutions used in workforce learning, apprenticeships, and professional qualifications.

Today, as AI reshapes how people learn and are assessed, that foundation matters more than ever. eCom’s investment in R&D is focused on ensuring innovation strengthens confidence in evidence, not replaces it.

For Wendy, the journey has also been personal. Being able to work flexibly while raising a family has been part of her experience, and eCom’s culture has always reflected that same understanding of people’s lives beyond work. As a Disability Confident and Carer Positive employer, supporting individuals through different stages of life is not a policy, it’s part of how the business operates.

Being part of a family business has shaped our focus on people, trust, and relationships - and that has never changed.

Years on, Wendy’s story and eCom’s story remain intertwined, built not just on growth, but on consistency, care, and a belief that learning works best when it’s built on trust.
